Blues clues hand puppet

Being on bed rest has had it perks. I've found a cozy little project; hand stitching hand puppets. I'm sure I could whip through these using a sewing machine, but if I stitch by hand, I can lean back, which is what dr wants.
Bella LOVES these little land puppets.
I'm currently working on the line of Backyardagins. Then, onto fake food using felt!! :)

A funny moment in the martin home

My son, Billy, can make a wonderful dinner. Steak and potatoes, chili dogs, home made French fries. He's become quite the little culinary artist. Which is why it's funny when he makes a DUH mistake. I've taught this child how to make Mac n cheese. Yes out of the box. This being on the same term as, jello. Here's a box, follow the instructions, and do it. Well, I guess today he just figured he would--do it his way.

Step one: put milk, butter, water in pot. Bring to a boil.

"um...bill...what are you doing with the milk?"

He then explains he's about to add the milk and cheese.

"BEFORE the noodles are cooked? Please bring me the box."

He does.

We read it together. And he says "They must have changed the directions over the years!"

Lol!!! Yea.... THEY changed the directions. Lol!!!!!!

Just chillin

While we rest, our bodies find the most unique positions to relax in. Take Bella for example; she's just chillin.....
:)

Home made pot pie

The changing weather inspired me to cook a massive chicken pot pie. In between my 30 min bed rest, I would do a new step. Happy news: it's yummy!!! I used the last of the summer squash from the garden. I used twice as much chicken as the recipe called for because I live among carnivores!
I never made a gravy base for pot pie before, it was very easy and super yummy. Of coarse, Bella helped the whole way!! Hello beautiful autumn.....

Date weekend

>
> My husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to have a full weekend to ourselves. Friday we did dinner and a movie. Saturday we went on a day trip to Collens Lake. Then we ventured off trail and went to an old camping spot my husband remembered, from when he was a boy. Before I knew what hit me, we were crossing "closed" bridges and 4 x 4 ing in our little Carolla. Lol it was a LOT of fun. Sunday was a day of relax......... Such a wonderful weekend.

Precious little feet

Bella took a nap, and she made me smile. Such sweet little feet......

Inspired by art to be a better me

Once a upon a time, I painted pictures. Therapeutic paintings, angry paintings, happy paintings.... Paintings with spots. I was pondering over the Internet under the search titles of "gentle mother", "kind hearted mamma" and "proverbs 31".

The following are pieces of art, by different artist that I would proudly hang in my home..... If I had money. Lol

I am inspired.....

I think my favorite is this first painting because, to me, it represents the beauty, innocence, purity and wholesomeness of motherhood. What is more pure than snuggling your babies to your chest, and safely slumbering away. To cuddle with your baby, and they wake up, cuddle again, and fall back asleep. The mother looks so at peace, so content with everything in life, based on the simple heartbeat, and Cotten sheets.

Nesting

Why does it feel so good to nest?!? The girls room is done. Thanks to my Hercules son, who was happy to move furniture and use his muscles, after 2 days of bed rest. I was especially pleased that he was strong enough to move furniture my husband didn't want me to move and the job was done from everyone standards!! I had a wonderful nesting morning!!!
