The simplicity of glass

At what age do you introduce glass to your child? As soon as you can in my opinion. Teaching a child to use something as delicate as glass is a challenge in itself. But in the long run, it teaches a lesson of slowness. This is a world plastic. Plastic bibs, plastic sippy cups, plastic binkies, plastic serving dishes, plastic forks and spoons. Anything can be bought, temporarily used and disposed of at your ease.
What a wonderful thing to teach a child; to set a table using dishes, real forks, cloth napkins and a placemat. To learn that a drink dosent have to come in "bladder buster" size, nor does it have to e sucked out of a straw. But a tea cup, with a little bit of cold iced tea, is fine. A little at a time. Go back if you want more. But just a little at a time.
Glass; simple and beautiful.
